GET A FIERCE PARTNER

Sharing is Caring

In this time of resolutions find ways to make it easy to stick to your goals, help yourself by helping someone else! If it’s fitness related, if it’s in your career, relationship find someone to share your goals with. It makes it easier to keep focused when you are accountable to someone else.

Write it Out

One thing that I find helpful is writing out the big picture. Write what you want exactly and WHY you want it. How will it make you feel to have it? Will you be sad, feel disappointed if you give up on yourself? Write out mini goals that will get you closer to your dream with dates when they are ‘due’ (i.e. lose 1 pound by 1/15/12, do two random acts of kindness by Friday, go on 3 dates this month etc.). Plug it in your calendar, set reminders for yourself of what you want to do by when. I set an alarm for 6AM each morning with my goals for 2012 and have mini reminders pop up throughout the day…it TOTALLY HELPS by starting each day with a purpose!

Share It!

Once you have your plan share it with someone, a friend, colleague or family member. Make it someone you know will stay in the game with you, someone who’ll ‘harass’ you a little, that you won’t want to disappoint. Sometimes it’s that little extra push that we need. It’s easy to give up on ourselves, or forget what we’re working for, but when we have others to remind us it can be just the answer we need.

Let’s Do This!

Go GETFIERCE…email a friend and share your dreams with them. This is your year to make it happen!

  1. After recently watching “How Do You Know”, I really like one scene that showed a bunch of post-it notes on the mirror of the Lisa’s bathroom that she tears down in frustration. I think it is a really cool idea to have post-it notes around to really inspire us from time to time, whether it be in a personal fitness sheet or a daily calendar or just along a monitor. Some of my favorite ones from the movie were:

    (1) What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.
    (2) The bad days make the good ones better –so don’t worry about it.
    (3) There’s a way you can change if you’re lucky enough, otherwise it’s your fault.
    (4) When you’re in something you got to give it everything you have or else what are you doing?
    (5) Courage is mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
    (6) You need to figure out what it is you want and learn how to ask for it.
    (7) Where there is no struggle, there is no strength.
    (8) Never drink to feel better, only drink to feel EVEN better.

I mean walking around the apartment and seeing inspirational saying like this would be cool I think, and I think it would definitely help to stick to one’s goals as we are constantly reminded of what our goals are. Just thought I would share it as you had mentioned that you had mini pop-ups throughout the day.
