Think…It’s a Challenge

Week 17: GET Real

What is the REAL reason you’re eating? Is it really that you’re hungry or are you filling a void that can never really be filled with food like  love, sadness, fear,,.filll in your own reason. We ALL have things we’re working on and food is an easy “comfort” for those situations, or so we think. No matter how many cookies we eat we can never fill up the space in our hearts with them.

I like being cold and asking a friend for a sweater. Your friend comes back with a Porsche. It may seem amazing at the time, but it doesn’t help the fact that you’re still freezing. We’re our own best friends, we need to listen to what we need and give ourselves THAT. This week’s challenge is about asking ourselves to start THINKING before we eat. Am I REALLY hungry? Is this REALLY what my body is asking me for? It’s our job to find the appropriate answer for ourselves. Let’s take this week to notice when we’re eating and why. Is it because you’re hungry or is it that you’re “bored” or tired or sad? Just notice.
