Oh Butt!

Shhh…Something (Not) to Talk About

Cell-U-Lite…Cell-U-Leet…no matter how you say it, it’s not so Sight-ly (to me at least). What is it? Why do women have it more? So many questions…here are some answers for ya.

What It Is?

Cellulite refers to the dimpled appearance of the skin that 80-90% of women have on their hips, thighs, and buttocks, but can also occur  on the arms and stomach. This appearance is much more common in women than in men, although men can also be affected. Between genders there are differences in the way fat, muscle, and connective tissues are distributed in the skin. Cellulite is caused by fat deposits that push and distort the connective tissues beneath skin, leading to a dimpling appearance. Heredity, skin thickness, gender, the amount and distribution of body fat, and age can all influence the extent to which cellulite is present or visible.

Can I Help It?

Calm down! A high stress lifestyle will cause an increase in the level of catecholamines, which have also been associated with the evolution of cellulite. And not just losing weight, but decreasing body fat percentages will typically results in the appearance of cellulite diminishing.

The Moral

Love yourself exactly as you are. No matter how many lumps, bumps, dimples, be grateful for the health you have and commit to giving your best to making it better each and every day.

I can see you GETTIN’ FIERCE!
