I have to say that I do love me some mango. Ask my friends, roommates…I can’t get enough. Mangos are not only good for you they are totally satisfying (to me) and filling. They’re sweet and a great replacement sugary processed foods.
Mangos produce an alkaline response in the body which is fantastic in this world of stress we live in. Mangos also have a high amount of vitamin C, so think about that next time you’re grabbing your morning OJ.
A cup of mango is only about 100 calories, so it’s a great way to snack in the summer. For all of my cocktail happy friends I LOVE a refreshing mango mojito in the summer sun. Take out the sugar and replace it with some freshly muddled mango and you have yourself one VERY tasty summer treat. Here’s how:
- 1 shot Bacardi rum
- 5 mint leaves
- 1/4 cup mango
- 1/5 cup fresh lime juice
- seltzer water
Muddle the mint and mango together add in the Bacardi and lime juice and shake with ice. Pour into a glass and top off with seltzer water…Wha-la…a fantastic sugar-free summer smile.
