Think About It

I was at the doctor yesterday for a check-up and I got on the scale. I was the same weight I was 5 months ago, but this time I feel so much better. Hmmm, my weight’s the same, my workout’s the same, but the feeling is different. I decided to check out what the dictionary definition of “weight” is and I found it very interesting…check it out!


Noun: A body’s relative mass or the quantity of matter contained by it, giving rise to a downward force; the heaviness of a person or thing.
Verb: Hold (something) down by placing a heavy object on top of it: “a mug weighted down a stack of papers”.
Synonyms: noun. burden – heaviness – importance – gravity – heft – onus
Synonyms: verb. burden – weigh


When I read the Webster definition of “weight” it made me stop and think. I did feel a “heaviness” 5 months ago despite being the same weight today I FEEL so much lighter.

Have you ever looked at a photo of yourself and thought, “This is a great shot of me?” then years later you look back on that same shot and think, “OH GOD! What was I thinking? I look awful! That outfit, that hair…YIKES” It’s the same thing with weight. You can be a certain weight and love it, appreciate where you’re at OR you can want to change it, be unhappy where you are and criticize the body you’re in. I was in the latter place 5 months ago. The difference today is that I’ve shifted my thought. I love my body. I’m strong, healthy, happy…what more could I ask for?

Coming from a place of love not only lifts the “heavy” feeling away, it breeds the feeling of lightness. This is the place we want to start from. Let the “weight” go, it’s only holding you down. Webster lists a synonym to weight as “burden”…iCK! Today is the day to create the feeling of lightness and free yourself.

    i used to complain a lot about my weight and one day someone in my circle just looked straight to me and said,” well if you are not happy with something change it”

    find what is right for you by creating it and simply live it and not only does this apply to weight, but rather life in general. be happy.
